Renowned Scholar Celebrates 60th Anniversary at Ikh Mongol Complex

The 60th birthday celebration of renowned Mongolist and scholar Yuri Nikolaevich Kruchkin was held at the Book Hall of the Ikh Mongol Complex.

Born in 1958 in the Saratov region of Russia, Mr. Kruchkin studied at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), completed Japanese language studies at the University of Waikato, and pursued further education in New Zealand and at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Throughout his distinguished career, he served with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Embassy of Russia in Ulaanbaatar, and as Consul in Erdenet.

Mr. Kruchkin is widely recognized as a Mongolist, diplomat, journalist, columnist, and simultaneous interpreter. He has authored more than sixty books and dictionaries, including Russian World of East Asia (Russkiy Mir Vostochnoy Azii).

The celebration, held at the Ikh Mongol Complex, was jointly organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia, the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Mongolia, and Ikh Uilsiin Ereld Group.

Among the distinguished guests attending the event were Mr. Z. Enkhbold, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of Mongolia; His Excellency Iskander Kubarovich Azizov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia; and Major General R. Gurragchaa, former Minister of Defense of Mongolia, along with many other honored guests.

The evening featured Russian music and dance performances, including excerpts from The Nutcracker ballet. Guests greatly enjoyed the celebration and praised the warm atmosphere and cultural program.
